1.  Middle School Conference- Registration opens TOMORROW (3/1) 

With the help of the IAVAT Middle School Committee, we are excited to host a one-day Middle School Conference for our 7th and 8th grade FFA members. The conference will be held on Thursday, 

April 27, 2023 at Lincoln Land Community College in Springfield. The event registration will be closed when 100 students have been registered. With that being said, we are going to limit each school to registering SIX students. A promotional flyer can be viewed here. When registering your students, you will be asked to provide a shirt size as they will be given a conference tee. Any students who have dietary restrictions or will need accommodations please share those with Casey Bolin (cbolin@ilaged.org). Each student will need to complete the C.A.R.E. Document in AET, please click this link for the instructions.  All conference questions or concerns should also be directed to Casey Bolin. 

2. Farm Family Resource Initiative Upcoming Events

The Southern Illinois University School of Medicine Center for Rural Health and Social Service Development (CRHSSD) is leading the effort to build a network of support and resources for Illinois farm families through the Farm Family Resource Initiative. The purpose of the initiative is to provide a range of resources including a helpline to assist with farmer and farm-related issues that include mental and physical health needs. Additionally, the initiative offers ongoing outreach, education and training to rural clients and partners working to improve the health and safety of farm families. FFRI is hosting several upcoming events that may be of interest to teachers, students and families. 3.  Illinois FFA Alumni and Supporters Camp Scholarship Application Due March 1, 2023

The Illinois FFA Alumni and Supporters Camp Scholarship Application and Letter of Recommendation is due on Wednesday, March 1, 2023.  Your FFA Chapter needs to have an active Alumni to apply for this scholarship.  Please only have one student complete this application.  Once the application is submitted the FFA Advisor will receive an email where they will need to reply with a letter of recommendation about the student that applied for the scholarship.  If you have any questions, please contact pdavis@illinoisffa.org.

4.  CORRECTION- Earn an Online Master’s Degree in Livestock Systems Health 

The Master of Veterinary Science (MVS) degree with a major in Livestock Systems Health is a new degree program within the University of Illinois College of Veterinary Medicine. 

CORRECTION - The MVS degree is part-time, 100% online, and costs less than $25,000.
