  Teaching Vacancy: Prairie Central High School

Prairie Central High School, located in Section 9, is seeking a full- time Industrial Technology/Agriculture Education teacher for the 2024-2025 school year. Courses to be taught could include: Orientation to Industrial Technology, CAD, Construction Tools, Advanced Woods, Metals, Geometry in Construction, and Home Maintenance


Candidates must: be licensed in the state of Illinois to teach Industrial Technology or Agriculture; have the ability to work well with administration, staff, students and parents; be a positive influence on students and staff; and have strong organizational skills. 


Competitive, per the Collective Bargaining Agreement. Prairie Central will be negotiating a new contract for next school year. The state minimum teacher salary for FY25 is $41,188. Actual salary will depend on negotiated wages taking into consideration experience and education. A sign-on bonus is available. This position will not include an FFA stipend or participate in the Three Circle Grant program. 

Prairie Central is in the midst of constructing an addition on its Ag/IT wing, providing additional support and opportunities for students and staff.
