As part of the evaluation process of contest host sites and the overall calendar of events, we are now seeking proposals for hosts for the 2025-2030 school years. If you know of a potential host site that may not receive these messages, please feel free to forward this to them.
You are invited to submit a proposal to host Career/Leadership Development Events at your facility or in conjunction with another event (State FFA Convention, etc.). You are encouraged to host multiple or single events and should not feel bound to the historical dates or process for the event. Just because an event is currently held in April does not mean it must continue to be held in April. While the proposal sheet that accompanies each event is fairly complete, feel free to highlight any special advantage or opportunity your facility might offer to enhance this valuable learning experience for all involved.
It is critically important that if you wish to be considered as a host site for future years, we receive a completed proposal form for each event that you are interested in hosting. A response to the invitation will undoubtedly influence which sites are considered for future events. The FFA and IAVAT Board of Directors will review the information at their April meetings and begin to consider how to make the calendar of events most acceptable to the teachers and their administrators, while enhancing the learning experience for students. I look forward to receiving a completed proposal form or multiple forms for multiple events.
Proposals, and any questions about the process, must be sent to Sean Welch swelch@illinoisffa.org no later than April 1, 2024.
A copy of the proposal form is attached and is posted for download at www.ILAgEd.org Please remember this download has many pages - you only need to fill out the pages that are related to the events you are interested in hosting. Also attached is the CDE/LDE Contest Responsibilities Document, which outlines the basic responsibilities of the Contest Host, Board Superintendent, CDE Committee Representative, and State FFA Staff.
