Vacancy- Paxton-Buckley-Loda Ag Teacher & FFA Advisor
Paxton-Buckley-Loda
High School is seeking a full-time agricultural education teacher & FFA
advisor for the 2024-25 school year. The new teacher will join Kirsten
Wyatt and Mike White in leading the more than 200 student program.
PBL is
conveniently located in Section 17, 30 minutes from Champaign-Urbana, 45
minutes from Bloomington-Normal. Facilities include an ag classroom, ag
mechanics shop, wood shop, metal shop, greenhouse, land lab, and
aquaculture/hydroponics systems.
Class
offerings include Introduction to Agriculture, Introduction to Agricultural
Mechanics, Agriculture Technology, Agricultural Fabrication I & II, BSAA,
Ag Business Management, Ag Construction, Horticulture Science,
Aquaculture/Environmental Science, Ag Mechanics & Technology. Course
assignments will be determined based on the strengths of each teacher.
PBL is a
1-to-1 Chromebook school with Google Classroom in use for classes.
The
successful candidate will possess a valid Illinois Professional Educators
licensure that has been registered with ISBE ELIS and Champaign-Ford Regional
Office of Education. The successful candidate will also possess knowledge and
understanding in best practices in student-centered instruction.
PBL
offers an 11 month contract plus FFA stipend. PBL participates in the 3-Circles
Grant program.
