Ag Teacher & FFA Advisor

Description
Oregon High School, located in Oregon in Section 2, is seeking an Agricultural
Education Teacher/FFA Advisor position for the Fall of 2020.

The Oregon Ag Department has an Ag Mechanics shop, two greenhouses, and a 10-acre FFA test plot, and they are part owners of a Christmas Tree Farm that sells about 750 trees per year. Current courses to be taught (although, flexible based on candidates) Veterinary Tech, Basic Agriculture Science, Agriculture Metal/Machinery, Introduction to Agriculture, and Agriculture Business.  School is going 1 to 1 with Chromebooks. The Agriculture Department does have a Smartboard, Ag Office Space, and an FFA Officer conference room. Agriculture is very important in our community.  Our new teacher would have tremendous community support.

Candidates must have an Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) or Career and Technical Education Educator License with Stipulations (ELS).  Contract length is 12 months as the school district participates in the Three Circle FFA and SAE grant.  Salary (year one, BA +0) is $38,473.29.   We also offer a student loan reimbursement program (for a percentage), and the Board pays all but 1% of retirement. More information at https://ocusd.net/schools/oregon-high-school
