Greetings from ISBE!
It is bittersweet for me to announce that after 18 months serving as the Principal Consultant for Agricultural Education at ISBE and State FFA Advisor and over 20 years in the field, I will be leaving agricultural education. Effective on August 1, 2020, I have been promoted to the Director of Curriculum and Instruction at ISBE. I am very excited to begin this work and am also very happy that I will still be working within the Center for Teaching and Learning at ISBE which also includes the Career and Technical Education Department, where I am currently located.
I cannot thank you all enough for the last 7 years I have spent with Illinois Ag Ed. I have appreciated the patience with me as I learned how things worked in a new state and I proud to call many of you friends. I look forward to the growth that I know Illinois Ag Ed will experience in the future as I have no doubt that your collective commitment to the best interests of students and excellence in teaching and advising will ensure continued success.
I especially would like to thank all of the FCAE staff, both current and former, and the Illinois FFA Center staff for your constant, continued support and encouragement while at ISBE. I would also like to extend my gratitude to the members of ICAE and ILCAE for your service to Illinois Ag Ed and in helping to onboard and support me through my time at ISBE.
I will keep everyone posted when my position is announced, in the meantime, please be thinking of who you could encourage to apply. I believe the current intent is that the position will be open for either the Springfield or Chicago office.
