The Illinois FFA Center will be putting out a survey later this month/early September to assess your interest level in having students attend a virtual BUILD Conference, as well as how you would like to connect with the officers during virtual Chapter Visits.

The 2020 - 2021 Illinois FFA State Theme is - DARE TO BE! Click here to view the 2020 Illinois FFA State Theme shirt. The T-shirt costs $15.00 per shirt and can be ordered on www.ilaged.org under Event Registration.
The Illinois Association FFA is also still selling the 2020 State FFA Convention Envision T-Shirts and convention buttons. Please order State Convention T-Shirts and/or Buttons for everyone in your chapter including members, advisor(s), parents, alumni members, etc. Once we receive the payment for these items, we will send these items to your chapter address. Please register for these items on the IL Ag Ed Website/Event Registration.

Donate to Virtual State Convention
Thanks to everyone that has tuned in to our Virtual State FFA Convention.
Each year, the State FFA Convention generates over $200,000 in revenue for Illinois Association FFA. With the transition to a virtual experience, we are able to greatly reduce our expenses, but will still face a significant shortfall with the loss of traditional registration revenue. In order to compensate for these losses, we are asking each chapter to consider a free-will donation as each chapter and community is able. As the FFA Board discussed, we are not going to create social media fundraisers or other donation outlets at this time out of respect for each community and families’ varying circumstances and available resources due to the pandemic. We ask that each chapter evaluate what funds/donations may be available and appropriate to support the continued efforts of Illinois Association FFA to continue providing as many opportunities as possible to our members in the uncertain months ahead. Any donations can be mailed to the Illinois Association FFA at 3221 Northfield Drive, Springfield, IL 62702.
After posting the above message, several agriculture teachers asked for a Virtual State Convention Donation worksheet/form to use in getting those funds generated in your local school districts. Please click here for the Virtual State Convention Worksheet.

Illinois FFA Alumni Council Update
The Alumni Council recently met virtually to discuss future plans and initiatives to continue supporting Illinois FFA. Please note the following updates:

As of Thursday, August 6, 2020, All Illinois FFA Alumni Scholarships are on hold until we know the fate of the events, so there will be NO release of 212, WLC or Camp scholarship applications until we know if those events will take place.

The Alumni Council will continue to sell Ranger Raffle tickets, the winning ticket will be drawn in June 2021. FFA Chapters or Alumni Affiliates who sell tickets will continue to get 40% back of the dollars sold back to their local chapter/affiliate.

Alumni Council members are working on a Fall Online Auction fundraiser, more information to come.

The Alumni Annual meeting is still on the calendar for January 22 - 23, 2021, Alumni Council members will continue to monitor the COVID-19 guidelines and protocols and make the final decision on the Annual Meeting later this Fall, most likely at the November 7, 2020, meeting.
6. Celebrate our Staff - Patti Davis, Proudly Serving Illinois FFA Center since August 23, 2010
Patti Davis is serving as the Illinois FFA Center Special Events Specialist. Patti graduated from Mt. Pulaski High School and received her Associate's Degree from Lincoln College in 1988. Patti has two children, Maddy & Joe. Maddy is finishing up her degree in Kinesiology at Louisiana Tech University, and Joe will be attending Illinois College in Jacksonville to play Men's Golf and get a degree in Ag Business Management. Patti first started at the FFA Center in August 2010. Patti handles Alumni membership, raffles, and scholarship processing. Patti also works with host sites for events, contests, conferences, and conventions. She coordinates registrations for all of the events hosted by the Illinois FFA Center.
The Illinois FFA Center is celebrating 10 years of Patti Davis, this Sunday, August 23, 2020. Help us celebrate Patti too, drop her a note, an email, a text, or a Facebook message, let her know how much she is valued by our Illinois Agricultural Education and FFA family!
7. GROWMARK Foundation to Provide FFA Jackets
In April 2019, Mike Builta, a GROWMARK vice president and long-time employee, passed away unexpectedly. To honor his memory, the GROWMARK Foundation will be providing 100 FFA jackets to FFA members in Illinois.
Twenty-five jackets will be provided each year from 2019-2022. FFA members are asked to answer the question “What does the FFA jacket mean to you?” and share the main goal they wish to accomplish as an FFA member. The application is available at https://bit.ly/BuiltaJacket2020 and is due September 30, 2020, at midnight.
Builta was raised on a family farm near Bellflower, Illinois. He was an active FFA member and lifelong supporter of agricultural education. He held GROWMARK System management roles at Christian County Farmers Supply Company in Taylorville, Illinois and GRAINCO FS in Ottawa, Illinois, before becoming GROWMARK vice president of Energy and Logistics in 2018.
The GROWMARK Foundation was formally incorporated in 2005 and supports 501(c)(3) not-for-profit charitable organizations. The Foundation is focused on programs and activities which support: the vitality of the industry of agriculture; agriculture education and consumer understanding of agriculture's contributions to society and the economy; agricultural leadership development; and education about the benefits of the cooperative way of doing business. The GROWMARK System has been involved in a variety of philanthropic efforts, including youth and young leader education and development and scholarships, for decades.
