There are two openings for Kewanee. Kewanee high school has an opening in their 3 teacher department. Kewanee is also expanding into Middle School which creates a 4th teacher for department. Both openings are below.
Vacancy: Kewanee High School
Position: Agriculture Teacher and FFA Advisor (3rd Position)
Description: Kewanee High School, located in Kewanee, Illinois in Section 3, is seeking an Agricultural
Education Teacher and FFA Advisor for the Fall of 2024. This individual will be joining Mrs. Kindra Callahan and Mr. Jacob Meyer.
The Kewanee High School Agriculture and CTE department has an on-campus farm, greenhouse, ag. mechanics lab, welding lab, and carpentry production shop with CNC Machine, wood lathes, Sawstop Table Saw, and other advanced woodworking tools. Current courses to be taught will be selected based on the strength of the candidate which may include both classroom and shop courses. There is an opportunity to teach dual credit depending on the candidate’s qualification. Kewanee High School is a well-established 1:1 Chromebook school with top-notch technology and instructional support. Our facilities are experiencing upgrades as the new Ag Science Center was finished back in Spring 2023 and our Great Dane Welding Lab was opened the year before. CTE and the Agriculture program are strongly supported by the administration and the Board of Education. Our community is dedicated to supporting an Agriculture program with a growing FFA Alumni and Advisory Council.
Candidates must have an Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) or Career and Technical Education Educator License with Stipulations (ELS). The school district participates in the Three Circles grant as long as the candidate meets the requirements. Base salary is based on years of experience and current professional agreement between the Kewanee Education Association and Kewanee School District Board of Education.

Description: Kewanee High School, located in Kewanee, Illinois in Section 3, is seeking an Agricultural
Education Teacher and FFA Advisor for the Fall of 2024 for Middle School. This individual will be joining Mrs. Kindra Callahan and Mr. Jacob Meyer in the Kewanee Agricultural Department.
Kewanee School District is expanding its agricultural offerings to the Middle School next year. Grade level will be 6-8th graders. The teacher will be a part of the whole Kewanee Agricultural Department with the opportunity to work with the new Middle School Chapter and High School Chapter. Depending on the successful candidate, the department may choose to balance the agriculture courses offered between both the high school and middle school locations.
