Pinckneyville Community High School, located in Section 24, is seeking a full-time agriculture education teacher to add to the successful agriculture and industrial arts program.
There are nearly 200 students currently enrolled in agriculture and industrial arts courses, with a great demand for additional classes offered. The newly hired teacher will work with current agriculture teacher, Austin McAllister, as well as Industrial Arts Teacher, Loren Baird, to expand the program's class offerings. Classes to be added will be dependent on the candidates’ strengths. Current agriculture courses taught are Intro to Agriculture, Agriculture Science, Natural Resources and Wildlife Management, Animal Science, Agriculture Business, and Horticulture.
The FFA chapter is very active in Career Development Events and local community activities. FFA responsibilities will be shared amongst Mr. McAllister and the newly hired teacher.
Pinckneyville High School has a new state-of-the-art greenhouse, as well as shares three shops with the industrial arts program. The program also has a classroom set of Chromebooks, as well as iPads, promethium boards. There is a very supportive FFA Alumni, school board, as well as community.
Salary will be based on district pay scale, with the intent of offering Three Circles Grant.
