Happy
Arbor Day: Ag Ed Family Trees
Happy Arbor Day! With IAVAT
Conference is right around the corner, we want to make sure we are getting our
forest of Ag Ed Family Trees ready!
The Illinois STAR (State Teach
Ag Results) Committee is continuing the tradition of having Illinois
agriculture teacher display their “Ag Ed Family Tree” in their classrooms.
We began this project six years ago and have handed out over 425
trees! We ask that you proudly display your framed Ag Ed Family Tree
in your classroom and challenge your students to be the next leaf on that tree.
If you would like a tree and have
never received one or if you need an updated tree
please fill out this Google Form.
If you need your tree reprinted, please mark that on the Google form and you
will only need to add the names of the missing people or any corrected
names. You can also email mcoy@ilaged.org with changes.
New teachers that went through an Illinois University have submitted their
information for their tree. All other new teachers can submit their
request for a tree by completing this form
The form will ask you to share:
- The teachers/institutions that led to you becoming a teacher (your
roots)
- The high school students that came through your programs and pursued
agriculture education (the leaves)
- The student teachers that have come through your program (the
leaves)
All information is reported by you, so
whoever you choose to claim will appear on your tree. We will be
presenting the seventh crop of Ag Ed Family Trees this fall! If there are
any questions please let me know.
