Temporary Worker – State Convention Support
This position is for a motivated college student interested in agricultural education who is excited to gain hands-on experience collaborating with the Facilitating Coordination in Agricultural Education Local Program Support Team during events associated with the Illinois FFA State Convention held in Springfield, June 9th - 12th. The position will work under the direction of Allie Bode, District III FCAE Program Advisor. You must be able to provide your own transportation and arrange lodging as needed.
Responsibilities/Work Hours:
Week of May 19th - Specific schedule and hours will be coordinated with the supervisor. Workers are expected to provide their own transportation to meet in Lincoln/Springfield for up to 6 hours to plan Teach Ag workshops.
Monday, June 9th - Approximately 2:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. Assist with the Welcome to Springfield Career Event for FFA members at Brandt, Inc. Headquarters in Springfield.
Tuesday, June 10th - Approximately 11:00 a.m.- 5:30 p.m. Assist with convention registration and miscellaneous assistance. Set up workshop room, present up to three workshops to prospective future ag teachers, and clean up.
Wednesday, June 11th - Approximately 10:30 a.m. - 10:00 p.m. Set up workshop room, present three workshops to prospective future ag teachers, and clean up after final workshop. Set up and facilitate the Illinois FFA Trivia Night (location in Springfield to be determined) in conjunction with FCAE-LPS Staff.
Compensation:
A stipend of $500 will be paid to successful candidates upon completion of the contract. Payment will come from Parkland College after a W-9 has been completed.
