*Sent to all Principals and Superintendents in Sections 6-7 and 9-10.

Good afternoon!  As the year wraps up, I wanted to email with some important information regarding your Ag Ed program.

Ag Ed Grants

Both the Incentive Funding Quality Indicators application and the intent to apply for the Three Circles Grant are due by May 15th.  Here are the details/links you’ll need:

On a Three Circles note, your teacher/s should be recording 400 hours in AET (Ag Education Tracker).  The grant year runs 7/1-6/30, so they should submit their hours for this time stretch to you so that reporting can be completed in IWAS.

If you have any questions as you work through any part of the grants, please contact me by phone (630-885-4927) or by email.

State FFA Convention

As you know, Ag Ed/FFA doesn’t stop with the school year, there are a ton of summer activities that your Ag teacher/s are preparing for.  The first on that list is the Illinois FFA Convention, June 10-12, in Springfield.  If you haven’t attended a state convention before, you should definitely try to get to one.  This is where Chapters and members across the state are awarded for their accomplishments over the past year.  Convention is a great way to see how impactful the FFA organization is and how many students it reaches. It’s also a chance for you to learn more as there is a school administrator/counselor workshop being held on June 11th.  See the attached flyer for more information.  If Ag programs are new to you, I highly recommend attending!

Teacher Professional Development

Your Ag teachers have many opportunities for professional development this summer including IAVAT Conference, Beginning Ag Teacher Conference, Second Year Ag Teacher Conference, and ELS Conference.  Each of these conferences will help to equip your teachers with tools and resources that they can use to be successful in the upcoming school year. Did you hire a brand-new Ag teacher?  See the attached flyer we are sending out to them to get them set for the summer.

Summer Meetings

Have questions regarding your Ag program, FFA, available grants, etc.? I’d love to set up a time to meet with you.  Just let me know and we can set up an in-person or virtual meeting for this summer.

Thanks for all you do to support your local Ag Ed program and FFA Chapter!
