9:00 - 11:00 a.m. Pen Making - In this workshop participants will learn to turn a wooden ink pen on a lathe.  You will see a full demonstration of the process start to finish, then turn your own wood pen using carbide-tipped lathe tools.  You will leave with the pen you made yourself.

Attire: Casual with no loose or dangling clothing or jackets.  No strings at all (such as hoodie-ties or roipe belts).  Avoid or remove jewelry such as bracelets and necklaces. No open-toed shoes or sandals.  Long hair must be tied back. Face shields are available but you may bring your own. Hearing protection (e.g., ballistic headphones, wrap-around, or even foam plugs) recommended.
