Hi College and University Leaders:
I sent the this message on January 12th relating more to Junior Minorities in Agriculture Natural Resources and Related Sciences (MANRRS) at the 9-12 grade level
As we continue to increase the talent pipeline of quality diverse employees for agribusinesses in Illinois, I would encourage your institution to develop a Collegiate MANRRS chapter this spring or fall as the National MANRRS Conference was just announced to be at the Chicago Marriott Downtown Magnificent Mile Hotel on March 20-24, 2024. I applaud the University of Illinois for having a very successful and active Collegiate MANRRS Chapter. View their webpage.
To create interest at your institution in developing a MANRRS chapter, FCAE - Local Program Support is offering stipends to attend the 2023 Conference in Atlanta, Georgia, April 12-15, 2023.
View Registration Guide. The stipend can be used for registration, transportation, and lodging. Depending on the number of colleges and universities interested, I would provide funding in covering costs to attend for 1-5 students and staff. Approximate cost to attend would be approximately $750 - $850 per person. No application required, just a reply email to me as soon as possible that you are interested. The only deliverable would be that your college or university establishes a Collegiate MANRRS chapter in 2023.
As I have previously attended National MANRRS conferences, the best way for you and your students to develop interest is to participate in a National MANRRS Conference.
I look forward to hearing from you.
