1.  National Corn Growers Association Scholarships

The National Corn Growers Association is proud to support three scholarship programs for three distinct audiences: 

1.  Technical School / Community College Scholarship Program

Five $1,000 scholarships for students pursuing a degree at a technical school or community college.

2.  William C. Berg Academic Excellence Scholarship

Five $1,500 scholarships for undergraduate students pursuing degrees in any field, provided by BASF Corporation and NCGA. 

3.  Graduate Student Scholarship Program

Two $2,500 scholarship for graduate student whose area of study will benefit the corn sector. 

To Apply:

Students or a parent/guardian must be a member of the NCGA. Past scholarship winners and employees and the families of employees of any division of BASF or their subsidiaries or the NCGA are not eligible for the scholarship.

The scholarship application deadline is Tuesday, January 31, 2023.

In addition to these programs offered at a national level, many State Corn Associations also offer scholarship opportunities to students from their state.

2.  Illinois FFA Alumni and Supporters Scholarship Applications Due November 11, 2022

Please review this past listserv with the scholarship applications links for 2023 Ground Zero Conference & Washington Leadership Conference Scholarships.  Please note you need to have an active alumni to have a student apply for each of these scholarships.  If you have any questions, please email pdavis@illinoisffa.org.

3.  Congratulations to Mt. Vernon FFA Alumni

Congratulations to Mt. Vernon FFA Alumni who won the National FFA Alumni and Supporters Eastern Region Outstanding Chapter Award at the National FFA Convention.  Bushnell-Prairie City FFA Alumni received third place.  Illinois FFA Alumni and Supporters placed 4th in largest state alumni associations and we are 100% life member State FFA Officer Team.  If you would like to submit an alumni outstanding chapter or member application, please review this past listserv.  The applications are due Friday, November 11, 2022 to pdavis@illinoisffa.org.

4.  National FFA Scholarships Application Now Open

Through the National FFA Foundation, businesses and individuals support scholarships awarded to students with a wide variety of higher education plans and career goals. FFA provides scholarships in all areas of agriculture — for trade schools, certifications or colleges. FFA high school seniors and collegiate members can apply. Just one application is required for multiple scholarship opportunities totaling close to $2 million. Apply today.

5.  Equity = Diversity + Inclusion - Interested in joining this Task Force?  

This Task Force started in the Fall of 2020, it includes students/FFA members and adults/advisors who have a passion for making sure everyone in FFA feels valued and included.  This group has helped to provide professional development for teachers and helped shape the activities in the Cultivating Conversations room at State Convention.  It is the goal of this group to welcome FFA members and teachers from large schools, small schools, Urban FFA chapters and Rural FFA chapters, all voices are needed.  Teachers, would you consider joining the task force?  Or would you consider encouraging your students to participate? Please click here to sign up for the Task Force.  This group will have an in-person meeting on Tuesday, December 6, 2022, at the Illinois FFA Center, 3221 Northfield Drive, Springfield, IL - you are welcome to attend this meeting to learn more about the Task Force and be a voice for including all students.
