  1.  GROWMARK - Mike Builta Jacket Program

In April 2019, Mike Builta, a GROWMARK vice president and long-time employee, passed away unexpectedly. To honor his memory, the GROWMARK Foundation will be providing 100 FFA jackets to FFA members in Illinois.

Twenty-five jackets will be provided each year from 2019-2022. FFA members are asked to answer the question “What does the FFA jacket mean to you?” and share the main goal they wish to accomplish as an FFA member. The application is available at http://bit.ly/2022BuiltaFFAJacket and is due September 16 at midnight.

Builta was raised on a family farm near Bellflower, Illinois. He was an active FFA member and lifelong supporter of agricultural education. He held GROWMARK System management roles at Christian County Farmers Supply Company in Taylorville, Illinois and GRAINCO FS in Ottawa, Illinois, before becoming GROWMARK vice president of Energy and Logistics in 2018.

The GROWMARK Foundation was formally incorporated in 2005 and supports 501(c)(3) not-for-profit charitable organizations. The Foundation is focused on programs and activities which support: the vitality of the industry of agriculture; agriculture education and consumer understanding of agriculture's contributions to society and the economy; agricultural leadership development; and education about the benefits of the cooperative way of doing business. The GROWMARK System has been involved in a variety of philanthropic efforts, including youth and young leader education and development and scholarships, for decades.

  1. FFA Rosters for 2022

ROSTER TIME - Yay!  With the beginning of the school year, comes the time to complete your FFA membership roster for the chapter.  Beginning this school year (2022-2023) all chapters in Illinois are affiliated (100% of your Ag Ed students will be FFA members) and your affiliation fee will be paid for through funding through the Illinois Department of Agriculture.

The FFA roster is completed on the www.ilaged.org website.  The steps to completing your FFA roster can be found on the www.ilaged.org website:

  1. PARTICIPATE

  2. About Illinois FFA

  3. 2022-2023 FFA Membership Instructions (very top link on that page)

The FFA roster must be completed (you have to approve your students as FFA members) by October 1, 2022.

When you submit your FFA roster, it will ask for your administrator’s name and email address.  The system will email an approval to your administrator to complete electronically.

ATTENTION - This approval must be completed before the roster will be approved to National FFA. Administrator approval must be completed by November 1, 2022.

We would like you to be sure to have all of your students submitted to the FFA roster before we submit your roster to the National FFA.  This way there is less likelihood to duplicate or miss members.

Please allow two weeks from the time your administrator has approved your roster for it to be approved to National FFA.  If you feel it has been longer than that, please contact Tammy.

If you have any questions, please contact Tammy - tyard@illinoisffa.org or 217-753-3328 ext 106.

  1.  2022 - 2023 Chapter Strategic Plan - DUE October 1, 2022

School year is off to a great start??   I sure hope so, we know that many of you have many amazing plans for the year ready to put into action.  As you are doing that, it’s a great time to complete your 2022-2023 Strategic Plan.

Just like in previous years, you can submit your Chapter Strategic Plan (Pre POA) in any format that your FFA chapter prefers.  The only requirement is that it is submitted electronically and received by the Illinois FFA Center by October 1, 2022.

The Chapter Strategic Plan (Pre POA) is a minimum standard requirement for Section E of the Incentive Funding Grant Application (IFGA).  You must submit a Chapter Strategic Plan ( Pre POA) by October 1, 2022, to receive any credit in Section E of the IFGA.

The FFA Chapter can use any format they prefer, but all plans received must be sent electronically.  NO paper copies are needed.

Steps to complete the 2022 Chapter Strategic Plan Process:

  1. ALL FFA Chapters MUST Click here

  2. ALL FFA Chapters MUST Answer the first 5 questions of the form.

  3. EITHER upload your own plan OR complete the form you have opened created by the Illinois FFA Center.

  4. ALL Chapters MUST open this form REGARDLESS of what format you choose to do your Chapter Strategic Plan in.

  5. Here are the Questions on the Chapter Strategic Plan form.

  6. Questions, email mbunselmeyer@illinoisffa.org

  7. Please click here for Chapter Strategic Plan instructions.

  8. DISCLAIMER - If your school does allow access to uploading to Google forms, please email your Chapter Strategic Plan to intern@illinoisffa.org by Saturday, October 1, 2022.

  9. There is NO NEED for emails or any other correspondence for submitting the Chapter Strategic Plan.

  10.  As a reminder, the Chapter Strategic Plan (Pre - POA) is due October 1, 2022.

Because everything is submitted electronically, it is dated when you complete the form, there is NO need to send this to your Section President or anyone else, simply print a copy of it for your records.

Have a GREAT year accomplishing your goals!
