State Proficiency Awards Process FOR CLARIFICATION: Clarify with AET books, save the pdf as a complete record book of the Enterprise your student is being judged for. Clarify those with EZ records to simply scan the records they are being judged for. Signature pages are not to be judged or be concerned with books without signatures. All Stars will be interviewed. State Proficiency Awards Process TIMELINE: Monday, April 13, 2020, is the date to have books uploaded. Online judging would begin April 16 - 19, 2020 to judge books. For those who will qualify for interviews we will conduct interviews April 22 - 25, 2020. Scheduled interviews will take place between 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Committees will interview all Star participants for the Star areas. Star Interviews will be Monday, April 20, 2020. Discovery Stars same process at State Proficiency Award areas. Goal is to have State Winners announced by May 1, 2020. SELECTION COMMITTEE Refer the Selection Committee process to a committee of the major state officers to work with the advisors who do not have a conflict of interest (D2, D3, D4, FCAE, Dr. Korte) to develop plans to adjust to the Stay at Home order with full power to act. Illinois Cooperative Council Youth Conference - Cancelled Due to the current and possible future effects of COVID-19, the Illinois Cooperative Council has decided to cancel this year’s youth conference, which was scheduled for June 4-5 at Southern Illinois University. Please mark your calendars for June 3-4, 2021, when we plan to be back in Carbondale. The Council hopes everyone is staying well and safe and we look forward to being able to get together again soon! The mission of the Agriculture Education & Classroom Equipment Grant Program is to support agriculture education by funding programs and equipment for high school agriculture classrooms in Compeer Financial’s territory. Eligible High School Agriculture Programs are those that have not received our grant in the previous two years. Grants are available up to $3,000 per high school. Applications are due April 30, 2020. Hands-on learning and new technologies are crucial to showing students the limitless potential of agriculture. Tractor Supply Company (TSC) is again looking forward to partnering with local FFA chapters during National FFA Week in February to help promote ag education, FFA, and the sale of $1 paper emblems at TSC store checkouts. The money raised through this promotion by TSC will be made available for minimum $500 grants that ANY local FFA chapter can apply for. The grant application will open for a two month period of March 2nd through May 1st. This is a new timeline. All FFA chapters are eligible to apply. BEING LOCATED NEAR A TSC STORE IS NOT REQUIRED TO APPLY FOR A GRANT.
