Hinckley-Big Rock CUSD 429 (Section 6) is expanding their AFNR program by hiring a teacher to
begin a Middle School AFNR program. This position will also serve as Assistant FFA Advisor at the High School.
POSITION: Full-time Career and Technical Education (CTE) / Agricultural, Food, & Natural Resources (AFNR)
teacher to work in a multi-teacher program across the Hinckley-Big Rock Middle and High Schools. Will serve as
the Middle School FFA Chapter Advisor. This is a new position.
DESCRIPTION: The ideal candidate will deliver lessons where students are actively participating in challenging
tasks to develop cognitive skills through reflective thought, analysis, problem-solving, evaluation, or creativity
and where students apply core knowledge, concepts, or skills to solve real-world problems characteristic of its
discipline. The position includes the development of a middle school FFA chapter. Extended contract via the 3
Circle Grant may be available contingent on state funding.
Courses to be taught will include:
--9-week quarterly exploratory classes for 5th-8th grade students
--High School Introduction to Agriculture and Entrepreneurship with work-based Learning opportunities
--Other courses will be considered based on the candidate’s qualifications and areas of strength
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
-- IL Professional Educator License with a Career and Technical Education or Ag Ed endorsement
STARTING SALARY: Regionally competitive; per the HBREA collective bargaining agreement
STARTING DATE: 2024-2025 School Year
