1.  Reminder to take the 2020 Illinois Ag Teacher/FFA Advisor Survey

Please take a moment to complete a survey that addresses the following questions about conferences, chapter visits, state officer engagement and many other FFA related topics.  This information will assist the FFA and IAVAT Boards in decisions they will be faced with as well as guide the Illinois FFA Center on implementing future events and activities.

2. National Awards Judges Needed

The awards and recognition team are seeking interested individuals to serve as judges for Agriscience Fair, National Chapter Award, and Agricultural Proficiency Awards. The virtual judging process will take place the week of Sept. 21. We hope you will consider and encourage others to sign up and serve as a judge this year.

3. 4-H Sustaining the Future Award

Please help us publicize an updated youth award program! The award application previously known as the 4-H Leadership, Citizenship, and Professionalism (LCP) Award has been refreshed and will now be known as the 4-H Sustaining the Future Award. This award is centered in leadership and quality involvement in agricultural interests and is sponsored by the Illinois Farm Bureau and Affiliates Youth Education in Agriculture Committee. The 10 winners of this award will be invited to attend the Premier 20 Leadership Conference.

4. The Horizon Conference

The Horizon Conference is a new virtual conference focused on cultivating the next generation of leaders in production agriculture. 

The conference is open to high school juniors and seniors interested in a future in production agriculture and open to students that have graduated from high school ages 18-24, again interested in a career in production agriculture or already started in their production ag career.

Interested FFA members should provide their name and email on this webpage: https://www.ffa.org/horizon-conference/ to be contacted later with the option to apply for the conference.

5. Ag Sales Product - Now Available

Product Information for the 2020 Illinois Ag Sales contest is now available on ilaged.org (here). Click here to view the original listserv with further information regarding Fall 2020 State Contests.

6. Alumni Ranger Raffle                                                                                                                   The Illinois FFA Alumni and Supporters Ranger Raffle will be held on June 10, 2021 during the Illinois FFA State Convention.  The tickets are 1 for $10, 3 for $25, or 20 for $100.  The FFA Chapters and/or Alumni will receive 40% of the total ticket sales back to be used for anything that you need.  The FFA Chapter that sells the winning ranger raffle ticket will receive $300.  So this would be a great fundraiser for your chapter.  If you would like to buy tickets or for us to send you tickets to sell, please email pdavis@illinoisffa.org.  The money raised will support future Illinois FFA Alumni and Supporters scholarships.

7. Alumni - National Outstanding Chapter Applications                                                                If you have an active alumni, please complete these applications and mail them to Illinois FFA Alumni, 3221 Northfield Drive, Springfield, IL 62702 by November 1, 2020.  These will be judged in November at the Illinois FFA Alumni and Supporters Council Meeting and the winners will be announced at the Illinois FFA Alumni and Supporters Annual Meeting on January 21-22, 2021.  After the annual meeting then we will send the winning applications to National FFA Alumni and Supporters for them to judge and award at the 2021 National FFA Convention.

• National FFA Alumni Outstanding Member Application - Do you know an Alumni member that has gone out of their way with Alumni volunteering, and a great all around person?  The National FFA Alumni Outstanding Member Awards are given in recognition of FFA Alumni members for outstanding leadership and service to agricultural education, FFA, and FFA Alumni.  

• National FFA Alumni Outstanding Chapter Application - The outstanding chapter award honors FFA Alumni Chapter for outstanding accomplishments and serves to encourage other chapters to further their own achievements.
